Four teams, three matches, one title: Frankfurt is hosting the biggest TTBL weekend ever
The Table Tennis Bundesliga (TTBL) is set for a historic weekend: on 30 and 31 May 2026, the Süwag Energie ARENA in Frankfurt will host the first-ever Final4 tournament to decide who will lift the most coveted trophy in German table tennis. Interest in the Liebherr TTBL Final4 is huge – and for good reason.
The Table Tennis Bundesliga (TTBL) has already enjoyed a record-breaking season. More than 70,000 fans watched the main round matches in the venues – a record figure that underlines the league’s growing appeal. Now this enthusiasm is culminating in a new event concept: two days, four teams and three top-class matches await at the Liebherr TTBL Final4. On 30 and 31 May, the Süwag Energie ARENA in Frankfurt will be the venue for a premiere that makes table tennis even more accessible and intense.
At the centre of sporting interest at the Liebherr TTBL Final4 is a man who moves the crowds like no other: Fan Zhendong. The Chinese Olympic champion will take to the table in Frankfurt for the last time for 1. FC Saarbrücken TT – and FCS are desperate to crown this farewell with the championship title. But in Saturday evening’s semi-final (30 May), they face SV Werder Bremen, a team known for upsetting the favourites. The Hanseatic side sensationally secured second place in the table and have already proven in the main round that they can defeat Saarbrücken.
Sunday’s final: Who will be crowned German champions in 2026?
The first semi-final on Saturday afternoon (30 May) promises to be just as thrilling. Borussia Düsseldorf will be looking to prove that the post-Timo Boll era is seamlessly transitioning into a new era of success. The record champions dominated the main round and secured first place; in the semi-final, they now face TTC Schwalbe Bergneustadt. The team from the Oberberg region, led by Benedikt Duda, has proven time and again this season that they are always capable of springing a surprise. “We accept every challenge and are heading to Frankfurt to win,” declared TTC coach Frederik Duda.
The two winners will finally face off again on Sunday (31 May): the new German team champions will be decided in the grand final, starting at 1 pm. It is the moment all four teams have been working towards for months. In this one match, all the groundwork of the season counts for nothing – what matters is the form on the day, the nerves of steel in front of a huge crowd, and the unyielding will to make history. Whoever lifts the trophy aloft: Frankfurt will witness a worthy champion.
An event for the entire table tennis family
If you want to be there in person and see the superstars up close, you should secure your ticket for the Liebherr TTBL Final4 now. Tickets are available for both Saturday (semi-finals) and Sunday (final), as well as, of course, as a combined ticket for the whole weekend. Seat-specific bookings can be made via the official Table Tennis Bundesliga ticket shop, by telephone on 0761 888499 99, and at all known ticket outlets.
The Liebherr TTBL Final4 is designed as an event for the entire table tennis family. Alongside the high-performance sport on the courts, the focus is on the shared experience. That is why access to the event remains affordable, with an attractive offer available especially for clubs: with the group ticket, teams of 10 or more can experience world-class sport for just 9 euros per person – a joint trip to the heart of German table tennis that perfectly rounds off the end of the season for many clubs.
