Truls Möregårdh remains with 1. FC Saarbrücken-TT in the Champions League
1. FC Saarbrücken Table Tennis can continue to count on Truls Möregårdh: the Swedish champion and current world number two will once again wear the FCS jersey in the Champions League competition next season.
Following brief but very positive discussions, the 24-year-old agreed to continue playing for the club. Möregårdh feels extremely at home in Saarbrücken and has made a conscious decision to remain part of the team in the future. Particularly impressive: since joining FCS, Möregårdh has remained unbeaten in singles.
“Playing alongside Truls is simply great fun. With his creativity, but also his team spirit, he is an absolute asset to our team. We are absolutely delighted that he will continue to play for us and can’t wait to go into the 2026 Champions League Final Four with him – and hopefully 2027 as well,” says Nicolas Barrois, Head of Organisation at 1. FC Saarbrücken Table Tennis.
Möregårdh himself is also looking forward to the coming season: “When FCS asked me if I wanted to continue working with them, I didn’t have to think twice. The club is extremely professional and I’ve felt at home there from day one – thanks in part to my teammates, who are just so much fun to play with. Winning the Champions League was something very special – but I want more. I want to defend the title. And if possible, go for it again in 2027.”
